Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield descended nearly 450ft into a mine earlier this month to play poker in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
An intrepid team - including team members, customers and two players from the Huddersfield Giants - met at the National Coal Mining Museum on 2nd November to help host the exclusive event and raise funds for Grosvenor Casino’s charity partner for 2011, Marie Curie Cancer Care.
John Fordham, General Manager of the Grosvenor Casino Huddersfield, says: "Marie Curie Cancer Care is a fantastic charity that helps care for terminally ill people and their families locally. We are really excited to have been able to show our support and raise £2,000 through the charity raffle and our extreme poker challenge. We are delighted that our customers and the people of Huddersfield have shown their support by giving so much money."
