Things really spiced up when Grosvenor Manchester (George St.) took on the Chilli Challenge!
Gaming Services Manager at Grosvenor Manchester (George St), Dave Sumners, has challenged his staff to "Take him on at anything". A challenger appeared, senior dealer Mike Rustigini, who stepped up and turned up the heat. Staff replaced chips with chillies and laid them out upon the roulette table.
Dave and Mike then took it in turns to spin the 'Wheel of Fortune', with their opposition having to eat the chilli that lay on the number which the roulette wheel landed on.
Although initially the challenge was set purely for entertainment, the Grosvenor staff used their initiative and offered customers the opportunity to donate cash for their chosen chap to eat the hottest chilli; this then raised around £40 for Marie Curie.
The contest ended with both Dave and Mike declaring a draw.
Let's just hope they remembered to wash their hands after.
