If you’re lucky enough to be watching an Ashes Test match in the flesh, you’ll be stepping into grounds where cricket’s greatest heroes were made and some of the games’ best stories were written. You can bet on matches taking place at Old Trafford, the Oval, Lord’s, Trent Bridge, Headingley and Edgbaston or head down under to the Gabba, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Adelaide Oval, Sydney Cricket Ground or Perth’s WACA.

Cricket’s greatest prize, the trophy that gave the Ashes its name, has never been taken home by the winners. The historic urn that was allegedly given to 1882 England Captain Ivo Bligh by his future wife, Florence Morphy, is on permanent display at the MCC Museum at Lord’s. It is rumoured to contain the ashes of a cricket bail and was presented to him after a satirical obituary in an English paper declared England’s hammering by Australia as ‘the death of English cricket’.
