BETTING ON FIELD HOCKEY FAQ

How do field hockey betting odds work?

At Grosvenor Sport, you’ll see all our field hockey odds written as fractional odds. An example of this is Hurley with odds of 8/1 to beat Oranje-Rood away in the men’s Hoofdklasse.

If you backed Hurley with a £10 bet and they win, you’ll win 8x your stake – so £80 in this case. You would also get your original stake back for a total of £90.

How to calculate field hockey betting odds?

Field hockey odds are fairly simple to calculate. If the odds were 4/1, this suggests that there is a one in five chance of the bet coming in (so a 20%) chance. If it comes in, you’d win 4x your original stake.

In reality, odds can be a little more complicated than this example. Take the example of odds of 17/5. If you bet £5, you would win 17x your original bet. Which would come in at £85, plus your original £5 stake.

How do you bet on field hockey?

It’s super simple to bet on field hockey. First select your chosen bet. You may want to back England to win the World Cup with an outright bet. Or you may consider backing a certain team to win in a specific match-up.

Either way, it’s important to understand the bet you’re making. Then look at the odds and how they impact both the probability of the bet coming in and your potential winnings if it’s successful.

Once you’ve done that, select your stake and make your bet. All our betting markets and field hockey odds are right here on this page.
