• Forecast bet – this is a bet on two dogs to finish first and second in a particular order.
• Reverse forecast bet – this is a variation on a straight forecast. You pick two greyhounds to finish first or second, but you bet for them to finish in any order. Also, as you’re making an extra bet, you pay double the stake than with a straight forecast.
• Tricast bet – with this type of bet, you can pick three dogs to finish first, second and third in the correct order.
• Combination tricast bet – you make three selections of greyhounds to finish first, second and third, but they can do so in any order. With a combination tricast bet, you’re effectively making six bets.

GREYHOUND DERBY BETTING

Held at Towcester every May to July, the English Greyhound Derby is the most prestigious event in the greyhound racing calendar. Think the Grand National of greyhound racing and you’ll be right on the money, but this isn’t just a once-off race like the National. No, the English Greyhound Derby sees 192 dogs compete over six weeks of racing to be crowned the eventual champion.

It’s the absolute pinnacle of the sport in both the UK and Ireland, and has a winner’s pot of £175,000. If you fancy trying to claim some winnings of your own on the Greyhound Derby, you’ll find all your essential greyhound betting markets at Grosvenor Sport.
