WHAT ARE ANTE-POST BETS?

In horse racing, ante-post bets are placed before runners are confirmed for the final race. Since your stake is lost if your horse is not confirmed, ante-bets rewards are often greater. They are mostly popular for prestigious meetings notably The Grand National and The Cheltenham Festival.

Why Choose Ante-Post Bets?

  • You may secure bigger odds compared to when the event draws near.
  • They help maintain interest as the season develops.
  • No rule 4 deductions if runner withdraws from the race.

Why Not Choose Ante-Post Bets?

  • If your horse is not confirmed for the race, you lose your bet.
  • You might find better each-way terms on the day of the race.

We’ve got ante-post Cheltenham Festival betting available, plus Royal Ascot, Glorious Goodwood, and all of the flat season classics and beyond. Whether you’re backing a sure-fire favourite, you’ve got a top tip, or just fancy a lucky longshot, we’ve got you covered.

THE MUCH-AWAITED HORSE RACING MEETING

The 2021 Grand National is long overdue of course, with the 2020 race not going ahead due to COVID-19 – the first year without The Grand National since ‘the race that never was’ in 1993.

All eyes would have been on Tiger Roll to see if the Gordon-Elliott trained hero would become the first horse to win three in a row. It wasn’t to be, but the Aintree favourite is expected to be back for one last hurrah around the famous four-and-a-half mile course, under the guidance of Davy Russell. If the Irish thoroughbred can complete the hat-trick, it’ll give the Gigginstown House Stud their fourth Grand National triumph since 2016 – Rule The World a 33/1 winner to kick off that run of good form.

Another 39 horses and jockeys will be looking to take the prize and write themselves into racing folklore, with the 2019 runner-up Walk In The Mill, previous Welsh Grand National winner (and winner of the 2020 Virtual Grand National) Potters Corner, and French fancy Burrows Saint amongst the challengers.
